Rashida Tlaib is poised to break barriers.

Rashida Tlaib might very well be the first Muslim woman in Congress. Her dedication to constituency/public service has been made apparent through her willingness to directly approach thousands of citizens within her district and on the streets. She hopes to stimulate awareness about progress and Islam in the U.S.  Zaki Barzinji and Hoda Hawa comment on the possibilities of Tlaib’s election into Congress saying, "She's a perfect example of how to systematically build political power...She's not just jumping into a congressional race out of nowhere, she literally spent more than a decade working her way up”(Barzinji) and (about Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib) "They've both run for office before and won. They know how to get elected" (Hawa).
